David Slater
Tennis Director

David is in his second year as Tennis Director here at Tamarack Country Club. Originally from St. Albans in England, he spent the last two years as 1ST assistant to the tennis director at Old Oaks Country Club in Purchase, NY. Before entering the country club world David spent three years as the Director of Tennis at the Tennis Club of Hastings. In his first year at TCH David oversaw the re-emergence of the club after Hurricane Sandy, helping grow the adult program and annual membership as well as overseeing the growth of the junior program to over 180 children ranging in ages from 4-17. A little-known fact about David is that he was also a fully qualified British tennis official and officiated at Wimbledon for five years from 1999-2003.


Marcel Felder
1st Assistant

Marcel joins Tamarack for his second season at the club. He recently retired from the ATP tour where he reached a career high singles ranking of 227 in singles and 82 in doubles. Marcel represented Uruguay in Davis cup from the age of 15, where he amassed a total of 24 singles and 13 doubles victories. More recently Marcel has coached at Club Obras in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and is the Tournament Director for a $50,000 ATP Tour Challenger in his native Uruguay. 


Max Darrington
2nd Assistant

Originally from England and is graduating from Marist College this spring where he is captain of the tennis team. Max has served as a hitting partner at Queen’s Club in London during the ATP Tour 500 event for the likes of Lleyton Hewitt and other ATP tour professionals. He also worked as a performance coach at the Culford School in Suffolk, England, taking many of the students throughout Europe to compete in junior ITF tournaments.
