2018 TCC Men's Events

Ed Monks ABCD

Our opening event of the season is named in honor of Ed Monks, a long time Golf Professional here at Tamarack. This tournament encourages all to participate as a kick off to another great season. Four players of varying handicaps are picked at random by our Golf Shop to participate in a Scramble event. Please sign up on our ForeTees system or in the Golf Shop. There will an opening dinner on the Friday night previous to this Opening Day event.

Governors Cup – Season Long

A pick your own partner event for all golfers that spans the entire season. This is a match play, better ball tournament with handicaps. If you win, you continue to play. If you don’t, your tournament is over. Winners are required to play each match by a certain date determined by the Golf Committee prior to the start of the tournament. If you are unable to find a partner, please ask the Golf Shop. They will be happy to help you find another single. The field is limited to the first 64 teams to sign up.

Men’s Senior Club Championship

Senior Club Championship: 55 and over at start of event. All players that want to compete in the Championship Flight must play one round during Flex Qualifying. You must play with someone who is qualifying or someone who has already qualified, and scorecards must be signed and attested following the round.  The low 7 qualifiers plus last years’ Champion, Bob Jones, advance to match play on Memorial Day Weekend.

All Flights begin Round 1 matches on May 26th with Finals concluding on Monday, May 28th.
THERE IS A
SEPARATE REGISTRATION TAB FOR THE FLIGHTS.

Men’s Medal Play Championship

We have now incorporated a Handicap division in the Medal Play Championship. The Championship Flight will play 54 holes from the Black Tees without handicap. The Field will be cut to 6 players and ties after 36 holes, and the Final Round will conclude on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Tee Flight will remain 36 holes and will also be contested without handicap. This year the White Tee Flight will be 36 holes, Gross and Net. In each Flight players will be paired by index on Saturday, and Sunday’s pairings will be based upon round 1 scores. Spectators are encouraged for the final round of the Championship Flight.

Tamarack Invitational

Our signature three day member-guest event and in our opinion, the best tournament you’ll find anywhere. Use this opportunity to show off Tamarack to a friend. This event kicks off on Thursday with practice rounds, a shotgun in the afternoon, putting and chipping contests, and stag dinner. Dine in our beautiful clubhouse while enjoying a cigar and the comradery of your fellow competitors.

The tournament officially begins on Friday with three 9-hole matches against golfers of similar handicaps (flights, once again, determined by our Golf Shop). In between matches enjoy a BBQ buffet, but don’t eat too much because you have two more matches on Saturday followed by the shootout and awards. Fantastic door prizes are provided to welcome your guest and each flight winner and runners-up will receive a prize. Please be aware that each member is allowed only one guest and the number of teams is limited to 54 (108 players). This is a first come-first served event and you should sign up as early as possible.

One Day Member Guests

An 18 hole tournament where each member is encouraged to bring 3 guests but may bring 1 guest and pair with another member and guest. This is a best ball event with handicaps which starts with lunch at noon followed by a 1pm shotgun. Prizes are plentiful. Play in one of the events or all four! Come and enjoy this opportunity to, once again, show off Tamarack and our facilities to your friends. Note all guests must have an official USGA handicap. Please sign up on ForeTees or in the Golf Shop.

2 Day Member-Member

Each player may pick his own partner in this two day event. The format of play is a best ball, modified stableford scoring system with handicaps. What’s a Stableford system? A bogey is worth zero points, a par is worth one point, a birdie is worth three points, etc. The team with the most points at the end is the winner. If you cannot find a partner the Golf Shop will be glad to help you find one. Please sign up on ForeTees or in the Golf Shop.

Club Championship

Play for the pride of saying that you are the champion of your flight.  Only the Championship Flight requires stroke play qualifying.  All other players will be seeded according to handicap in their respective flights.  Championship matches start the Sunday before Labor Day and Flighted matches begin the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.  The Finals for all Flights take play on Labor Day and the conclusion of championship weekend is the Toast to the Champs.

The Tamarack Cup

We encourage all to participate in our premiere member event of the season. This event has a Ryder Cup type format and begins on Friday night with a required stag dinner where teams of various degrees of golfers are drawn at random. Enjoy a buffet dinner with your teammates and find out who you are competing against on Saturday morning and afternoon. Saturday is comprised of two 9-hole matches. The first of which is a scramble while the afternoon match is alternate shot. Sunday brings 9 holes of best ball followed by the final 9-holes of individual matches. This is a wonderful event which provides an opportunity to mingle and play with people you may not have had a chance to play with before.

Monster Tournament

Fun is the operative word in this mixed event. All members (men and women) are encouraged to put together a foursome and enjoy the “unusual” golf you will be playing. This scramble event is set up to maximize fun and challenge the player. Pins are set up on sides of hills or in valleys. Some holes have more than one pin! Men might tee off from the ladies tees on some holes. This is golf at its most torturous AND most smile inducing. Beat the team of Pro’s and win a prize! Please sign up on ForeTees or in the Golf Shop.
